Stacey Torres

Stacey Torres is an African American folk artist, born in Jamaica, New York in 1953. She now resides in New Castle, Indiana. Her primary artistic focus is on women of color. She paints with an abundance of color and media inspired by her Caribbean heritage.

A self-taught artist, Ms.Torres’ love of painting began at a very early age. After a 40 year hiatus, while spending time with her mother who was in her final stages of Alzheimer’s, she began to paint again for emotional therapy and support. This practice continues today.
